Dedicated account management support now available for medium volume contracts
Smt developments is offering the additional benefits of a dedicated account manager for medium volume PCB assembly contracts. Depending on individual requirements, the account manager can take on responsibility for tasks such as inventory management to help reduce inventory levels and optimise manufacturing flexibility.
“We have always prided ourselves on offering a personal service and close attention to detail,” said John Rowley, sales manager for smt. “Now we are taking this approach one stage further and offering the services of a dedicated account manager to clients with medium volume manufacturing requirements. This will serve to further enhance the strong and clear lines of communication that smt customers already enjoy.”
John continued: “An increasing number of customers are looking to smt to provide fully outsourced design and production solutions, often after problems with offshore suppliers. In these cases, our account manager can take on responsibility for areas such as stock management. This not only has benefits in terms of the cost-efficiency and service levels provided, it allows the client’s management team to focus on key areas such as product development, sales, marketing and customer service.”
Three steps forward for SMT
Smt developments has taken delivery of a sophisticated i-PULSE pick and place machine, a DEK Horizon 03i automated screen printer, and a state-of-the-art Heller EXL forced convection reflow oven. The new technology delivers a significant step forward in our capability, and will help to ensure that clients enjoy even higher standards of efficiency, competitiveness and quality assurance.
“This expansion reflects our continuing success in low-to-medium volume assembly and smt’s commitment to re-investing in the service we provide our customers,” said John Rowley, sales manager for smt. “Alongside our existing production facilities, this new equipment means
we can increase our capacity and speed of response, handle a wider range of components, and further improve process quality.”
Critical benefits of our new i-PULSE M4e pick and place machine include very high levels of speed and accuracy. True ‘on-the-fly’ optical centring is supported for components that range in size from 0201 to 54mm square, including fine pitch QFPs, uBGAs and CSPs. Place accuracy for QFPs is to within 35 microns. With a throughput of up to 12,500 components per hour, the M4e is SMT’s fastest pick and place machine to date.
Alongside the M4e, the new DEK Horizon 03i is our first fully automated screen printer. Once again, the key advantage for customers is the extra speed and
efficiency provided.
The third new addition to the smt portfolio is a Heller EXL 1705 forced convection reflow oven. Highlights include exceptionally accurate heat control, particularly at the higher temperatures demanded by RoHS-compliant manufacturing. The EXL also minimises flux condensation and supports the highest possible standards of process consistency, ensuring outstanding repeat quality in even the most demanding applications.
